Hi, I was born in Glasgow in
the Southern General Hospital new years day 1972.
I am the only daughter of Mary Martin born
1952(bridgeton)and William Lavery born 1954. I
lived in James Street in Bridgeton until I was
around 3 and can vividly remember creeping into
the kitchen in the middle of the night to feed
the mice that had climbed out of their little
holes, and seemed to over run the house at that
hour. My mother was horrified when she caught me.
We moved when they were pulling the building down
and went to live in Darnley where I attended the
St. Angela's Primary School. I remember Mrs
Barton and Miss Murphy as my favourite teachers
there. I left there when I was 10 and moved to
Ipswich with my parents. I am now 27 and work as
a Support Analyst in Thatcham Berskhire, I still
regularly visit Glasgow but I do miss it very
much. If anyone who went to St Angelas in Darnley
around 1977 please drop me an e-mail. |

Greetings! My name is Chris, I
am a 29-year old architect and was born here in
the states. I wish to find a genealogical link
from my immediate family to Scotland. I am thied
generation Scorgie which I have found that there
are many Scorgie's in the US and Canada alone
that I have never known existed until the advent
of the Internet. My Father, William Edwin Scorgie
II was born in 1936 in Cambridge, Massachusetts
and his Father, William Edwin Scorgie was born in
Boston sometime between 1910-1918 (not Sure). His
father, Thomas Scorgie was a grave digger who
emigrated to the states (when? I have no idea). I
have corresponed with a Richard (Dick) Scorgie in
Aberdeenshire, but that is as far as I have been
able to find out. I would love to hear any useful
information regarding this, and get a good Haggis
recipe. Thanks |
