Gordon & Alice Sutherland
Canada |
N/A |
Hello, Gordon (born 1944) and
Alice (born 1945) Sutherland (nee Deviney)here.
Me from 1034 Maryhill Road (next to the STAR
picture house) and Alice from 13 Mingulay Street
in the Milton. I went to Shakespear Street School
and then on to North Kelvinside. Alice went to
St. Augustines. I was also a member of the 96
Glasgow Boy Scouts but quit because I had to walk
past all the neds at the top of Oran Street,
shouting at me because I was wearing my kilt and
Mounty hat. After
we got married we lived at 66 Viewmount Drive. We
both worked at L.Sterne & Company on the
street behind the SEAMORE and got married in the
Old Kirk in St. Monans, Fife in 1965. We love the
Fife coast and often dream about retiring there
someday. We left Scotland with two babies in 1968
and now that we have two Grand kids of our own
realize how our folks must have felt. I became a
Police Officer in Toronto for over 27 years and
retired 3 years ago. Two of our children followed
in my footstept and became Police Officers and I
am now working for an insurance company. We would
both love to hear from any old friends who
recognize us.
This is a great site and we have spent lots of
time reminiscing over some of the stories - and
told other ex-patriots about it.
Yours Aye, Gordon & Alice Sutherland
(Many
thanks for the kind comments - ED) |
