Hi, my name is Sandra, I'm a
very young mid-forties lady from Glasgow. One of
my interests is travel, I lived in Sabah in
Borneo for almost 15 years and would be
interested in corresponding with anyone who knows
that part of the world. Other interests are
hillwalking, particularly with my collie. Being
away from Glasgow and Scotland so long only made
me appreciate it more. All e-mails answered. |

I would like to correspond
with anyone who was raised in an orphanage at
Brig Weir My mother and her sisters were raised
there, her name was Janetta McGregor, her sisters
Dora, and Agnes (Sally)...I would also like to
contact my cousin Robert McGregor, I know this is
a long-shot, but I think maybe he might read this
message. My mother was born in 1929. Met and
married a Canadian soldier Red Friel during the
war and raised their family in Ottawa,
Ontario...I am now residing in Vancouver, BC, and
would like to know more about my Mom's childhood.

I was born in Cartside Street
LANGSIDE and moved to Cartvale Road when I was 2.
I went to both Queens Park Schools (primary &
Secondary) and was in the 158th BB Co based at
Battlefield West Church. I have a brother Stuart
& we migrated with out parents in 1956 to
Australia. I would like to make contact with any
of my old school friends who might remember me. I
can remember Kenneth MacAllister, Val Brown,
Ronald Brownlee (who I now believe is dead as
well as another mate Sandy Heron). Alec
"Goofy" Florence was also an old
friend. His father had the chemist's shop in
Sinclair Drive near the mayfair picture theatre.
I used to deliver papers for Bruces's paper shop
across the road from the Mayfair then I worked as
a grocers boy in Galbraiths for a few years
before coming to Oz. If there is anyone who
remembers me I'd be pleased to hear from you. Two
of my brothers pals were Campbell Robertson and
Fergus Hamilton both lived across the road from
us in Cartvale Road. |
