As many things Scottish as possible. |
I was born on the 19th
April,1927, in Elderpark Street, Govan and
attended Elderpark St School, Craigton Road
Scools, Cardonald School, Alexander Parade
School, Whitehill Secondary. I started work at
the age of 14 years at the North British
Locomotive, Hydepark Works in Springburn. I was
in the Scots Guards from 1944 - 1948. I came to
Canada in 1951 to the Toronto area and then on to
Ottawa in 1960, where I presently reside. I
return to Scotland on business trips on several
occasions and spend my time visiting and staying
with family on the Isle of Arran. There is
nothing more relaxing than hanging over the rail
of the Glen Sannox or the current Car Ferry and
thinking back to the same trip made a few
generations prior. Govan, Cardonald, Dennistoun
and Springburn ( including the terracing at
Firhill) all made a major contribution to
preparing me for the life ahead and to Glasgow in
general, I THANK YOU. |

Looking for Robert Marshall. I
am trying to find Robert Marshall whom I met in
Hong Kong in 1968. He was a cook aboard the
H.M.S. Dido, and I was a US Marine on R&R
from Vietnam. He went to Whitehill Secondary
School, and attended there about the same time as
Lulu. If you can help in my search in any way,
please contact me Thank you |
