Greenhill Covenanters House.

Biggar has been a home to people for centuries. There is evidence that Biggar Common was inhabited in the Stone Age, long before the time of William Wallace's battles for freedom.

Cadger's Brig, which legend associates with William Braveheart Wallace's espionage activities in the 13th Century. Wallace is just one of the historic figures associated with Biggar.

Historical figures from the time of William Braveheart Wallace have connections with Biggar. Legend tells how one dark night Wallace himself dressed up as a pedlar and crossed Cadger's Brig to spy on the enemy English camp. He is alleged to have achieved a victory within the burgh. Bonnie Prince Charlie is another of the Scottish heros associated with Biggar - his army rested in Biggar in 1746.
